OK, I've done a search, and couldn't find a topic that already addressed this particular problem, so if this has already been answered, I apologize.
Anyway, I've recently re-installed Madden 08 after feeling a football jones and not having any other alternatives to satisfy it. (Damn you EA, we want 10 on the PC!!!!)
I played a few games just to get me re-acclimated to the controls and pacing of the game, then started a franchise with my sadsack Lions. I played through the preseason, regular season, and the playoffs up to the Superbowl without any issues. I estimate I played around 30 or so games up to this point. Game ran flawlessly. Now, when I play the Superbowl, at a random spot during the game, it just freezes. The video is stuck at the transition between plays, and the only audio is the crowd background noise. I then have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and force Windows to close the game. I've tried 4 times now to play the game, and each time it has crashed. Does anyone have any insight to why this suddenly happens, and maybe a way to correct it?
Here's is more info on my situation...
It has crashed every time during the transition animation between running one play and calling another, when I don't have any control over the game.
I've tried all the usual troubleshooting: made sure my video drivers are up-to-date, patched the game, quit all unneeded background processes, restarted before playing, even uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
My computer is more than able to handle the game, as I've played a bunch of games up to this point without issue. I have Window 7 64-bit, but again that not the problem as I've been playing the game for a while without incident.
I haven't made any changes to my computer between the last time it worked and now, hardware or software, so there isn't a new conflict with the game. I did install a current (Nov 09) roster and an updated uniform for the Lions, but those were installed well before the problem arose.
So, there's my pickle. Anyone have any thoughts on my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated...|||Since I posted this, I've made a discovery. The game locks up immediately before my team kicking off. I played 2 games, one where the opposition kicked off to start, and one where I kicked off. If the other team kicks off, there's no problem, but the game locks up when getting ready for my team to kick off. I can kick field goals and PATs, but kick offs lock the game up.

Madden 08 Superstar Question
So I have been playing Madden 10 a lot.. but needed something for my laptop while i travel.
Madden 08's superstar mode blows away Madden 10's... if you ask me. Lots of fun.
I need help though. Is there a way to simulate or skip plays that don't involve your superstar when playing a game? Madden 10 and NCAA 10 do this. You only control your player and you can skip all the other plays. I can't seem to do this in Madden 08. I just have to either watch or play along on defense. Any suggestions??

And FYI... this is the PC version.|||Yeah, all u have to do is Pause the game and switch the Mode to CPU...it will simulate all the plays and when its your turn to be on the field, it will automatically switch back.|||Hmmm. When I pause and click CPU it does not simulate plays until I am back on the field. Instead, it just switches the camera view and I have to just sit and watch the plays happen. Kinda odd. Do I need to switch some setting?|||the option to skip until your turn wasnt offered in 08

Lost registration code for Madden 05
I recently had a computer virus and i had madden 05 and mvp baseball 2004 on my computer, since i downloaded them a long time ago i no longer had the madden 05 codes to redownload it but i did for the baseball game,
I was able to have the company that fixed my computer save all of my old programs, I have all of the information showing in a folder but when i try and play it, it asks for the code like i am playing it for the first time, is there anyway i can recover this information or is gone forever?|||Try e-mailing EA sports, I know I lost a code for a older game before and I e-mailed them asking for help and they just gave me the code. I believe it was a EA game as well, so hopefully they can send one your way.

With all this talk now that the offseason has begun I'm getting anxious. I could be reading about all these features yet find out a month before release that they dumped the pc once again.

During a financial call today the mega-publisher announced that it would be bringing Madden back off the bench next year (along with other shelved games) on PC. Peter Moore said EA Sports will be "Retooling these titles to take advantage of the online connectivity in a bigger and more meaningful way. Stay tuned for more on this."

When looking to pre-order I can't find a PC version. Things are not looking good. I wish EA would go out of business soon, this is inexcusable. I hope someone comes out with a decent Football game for the PC. It is sad that EA games isn't going to move that way.

New League looking for coaches
I am part of a non-profit organization that is looking for experienced coaches of Madden to actually roleplay as a coach in a game called SecondLife.
Games are played from spawn files from a master franchise file maintained by the league. We play in Coaches Mode with 7 minute quarters.
You are probably asking yourself "what would I have to do as a SecondLife in-world coach?"
Well, you would have to manager your players. You need to make sure they workout. By working out, players earn bonus points added to their OVR in Madden. The flip side is, players who don't workout lose points in their OVR.
Players workout in gyms owned by either a team or the SLNFL. Players have HUDs that communicate with our workout tracking website. They have to physically be at their computer while working out since the HUD makes them click on a verification box every two minutes.
As a coach, you will have access to see how much your players are working out. You can praise the ones doing their job and motivate those who don't.
