Need help, old version of madden need to update for online play!

I have version 1.0 and thought online play was down since august. It tells me I need to update every time I try to play online. Can someone help me out please?|||google madden 08 pc version 4.0. you sholud find some download somewhere.|||I have the same problem and I have tried googling and found nothing
