football-freaks.com not working

Bad news for those who play Madden NFL on the PC: football-freaks.com is (apparently) dead.|||apparently the admins sent a new link to premium members. can't find it tho, pretty gutted cause i checked it out pretty day and posted quite often|||Wait, what? Are you sure this is true? If so, I wonder what a "premium" member is. I'd like to think that I was one...|||Not sure if it is true but thats the word. I'm sure theyd give you the link tho as you contributed tons. Love your superstar utility with the alternate camera angles.|||I'm having a hard time getting verification from anyone about this one way or another. I've messaged a few guys that were probably even considered more premium than me, and they hadn't heard anything about it. A few guys haven't responded. I'm just disappointed the site went away without any real warning... I have SO many tutorials and files I would have loved to archive... sigh...
I'm glad you like the SuperStar utility! I wish I would have had a little more time to work on it. I had a few new tings I was going to add, but work/family gets in the way (in a good way!).|||I've set up a site at http://www.footballidiot.com/forum. So far, I have forums for general discussion, journals and 08 PC talk.
Hopefully FF will return...it's a great community and it's unparalleled when it comes to customizing Madden 08. However, if the site stays dead, I'd be happy to expand mine.|||

I haven't heard anything like this. If true, this would be a slap in the face...your work on the utilities was groundbreaking. I also feel I was able to add useful knowledge to the forums from time to time, and I did donate (although it was a minimal amount.) However, I wouldn't presume this to be true without some solid proof.

Can you let them know that I've formed an interim site: http://www.footballidiot.com/forum
I say "interim" with the hope that the other site will come back. If it doesn't, however...I believe that there needs to be a site devoted to Madden 08, the last version on the PC to date.

Might you be able to get them from www.archive.org ? Google also caches some stuff, although I think FF has been gone long enough to have dropped out.
I'd also better start looking into creating a files section.... at the very least, should the other site return, we'll have some redundancy.|||well this stinks ...
There were a few of us just starting to work on editing 04' and trying to get roster updates to work right.
JD, keep us posted on your work and maybe we can all figure something out.|||

I just realized the whole archive thing a couple days ago. Thank god. It doesn't have everything archived, but a lot of things are. No files, but a lot of forum information.
Head over to the Madden Football-Freaks wiki and let them know about your site. We can probably work on some recovery together!

Revan updated the Wiki to mention it. Wiki is a great resource and we got a good amount of info into it... however, the forum and discussions were valuable as well, showing a history of how much of this data was arrived at.
As I mentioned on my board... if it should come to pass that FF's owners decide not to repair the site, I would very much like to get the SQL data and try to convert it over, to carry this knowledge on.|||Hey folks,
I am new to the Madden PC community and I never had the opportunity to take part in the football freaks community.
Despite me being new I am very interested in helping rebuild. Please get in touch with me and we can work together on getting files and a new site up to help push forward the Madden PC community.|||The forum was not changed to a premium only with another site address. Simple "ping" requests to the site come back with a response of "Request Timed Out" or "Host Not Responsive".
I've been an admin at FF for almost 2 years and there was NEVER any discussion in making it a premium only site. One simple reason being that there's not (and never was) the demand to make it something premium. I've tried numerous time to reach the site owner but have not gotten any response. My recommendation to everyone that wants to see FF return is to contact him. I can provide some basic contact info. Just shoot me a PM or email (@google.com).|||Yeah, going premium would not be at all realistic. The only thing which might remotely fit that, would be if the site owner were implementing new board software, and gave the link to a select few for testing purposes. Still, if I were a site owner and my site were down, and I was working to bring it back, I'd probably want to get the word out that I'm working on it.|||

Agreed. Although typically when the site owner has done any maintenance shutdowns, it's been announced a few days in advance, along with a timeframe of returning. Hopefully enough individuals will contact him and in some way shape or for the site is back online soon.
In the meantime the wiki page and the page mentioned by torontogrudlies are the places to start.
If I hear anything I will keep everyone informed.|||Well this is disapointing. I was looking for the site for a few days. I only posted a few times but I used that madmod-x alot. I was actually hoping to find madwolf's team swapper. (I restored my pc recently and it wasnt backed up, so it was deleted)
